By the causeless mercy of Srila Prabhupada, Book Distribution was the Single main activity for part of Baroda congregation in the month of december.
Approximately 40 congregation devotees actively took part in book distribution marathon.
It was very inspiring to see grihastha devotees to serve like full time devotees on weekend / holidays.
Every weekend / holiday grihastha devotees used to go for book distribution 'home to home' to spread the message of Lord Caitanya.They used to go early morning and after 4-5 hours of distribution, they used to take lunch prasadam cooked by any of the congregation member. After a little rest, again they were going for distribution, till late evening.
Ladies with kids, elderly devotees also participated to get special mercy of Srila Prabhupada.
Congregation devotees also took the opportunity to distribute books in a big festival in north Gujarat. Congregation devotees went there for 3 days and in hot sun, they distributed many many books for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada.
Congregation devotees also went to dakor (a pilgrimage place for Vaisnavas, where Lord Krishna resides as Ranachor Ray) for book distribution twice in the month.
Even on weekdays, many devotees were going for book distribution.Devotees put Book stalls at various locations / fares / important temples/ petrol pumps in the city.
Devotees were trying to distribute books in set of big books (Bhagavad GIta + Krishna book + Ramayana).Many people preferred to take this set rather than just one book.
Congregation devotees distributed more than 4000 big book in this month. Many devotees shared the experience that they got so much enthusism by distributing books in this month.
Temple resident devotees also participated actively, Pujaries were distributing books from the alter. Many life members / BTG members / industrialists were approached for mass distribution of Books.
Temple resident devotees distributed more than 7000 big books with grand total of temple distributing 11000 big books.
Book distribution marathon ended with gifts hand-over ceremony by Temple president H.G Basu Ghosh Prabhu. He said in the ceremony that Baroda temples attempt to distribute books is like a squirrels attempt in helping to make a bridge over the ocean in comparison of lacs and lacs of books distributed in other major centres.
We are ever thankful to HH Bhakti Vikasa Swami Maharaj (who is constantly encouraging all the congregation devotees),HH Gopal Krishna Goswami maharaj (who kindly visited in this month for encouraging devotees) and H.G.Basu Ghosh Prabhu, Temple president, who provided all support and facilities.
